Internal Property Decoration – Mill Hill – North West London

A returning customer from Mill Hill, North West London enquired about having their house redecorated.

Before commencing we protect all flooring with dust sheets and furniture with polythene dust sheets. To avoid any paint sprays we apply masking tape around light fittings and around the skirting boards.

The project entailed making good all walls and ceilings and checking for cracks and uneven surfaces. Interior filler was used in order to repair the cracks and then they were sanded down to achieve a smooth finish.

One coat of vinyl matt emulsion was applied to the ceiling and the walls and was given the once over highlighting any defects to the ceiling and walls. Once satisfied with the preparation, we then gave the ceiling two coats of white vinyl matt.

We then filled and prepared woodwork, rubbed it down and applied one coat of undercoat to all the woodwork.

Two coats of vinyl matt were then applied to the walls.

Next, we checked over the woodwork looking for any defects, rubbed down the woodwork, applied decorators cork to any gaps, applied the second coat of undercoat and lastly when dried, satinwood was then applied.

In the bathroom, we used anti-resistant mould paint on the ceiling and walls.

Before the initial handover to the client, we carried out a snagging inspection of the property making sure that the work was to a high standard. Once satisfied, we then appointed a cleaning contractor to leave the property sparkle cleaning. This involved cleaning all surfaces, windows, white goods and carpets.

In this project, we used water-based paint due to low odour as our client had a respiratory condition.
